Epistle of Jude
Jude is considered a “General Epistle”. It was not written to a specific church, but rather to churches in general. Its primary audience may be Christian Jewish churches due to the notations of Israel’s history. The date is probably prior to 70 A.D. as there is no mention of Jerusalem’s demise. The letter identifies (characterizes) and warns of men who seek to pervert the faith of Christ. It provides guidance in dealing with these ungodly men. It is because of these men that there is a call to “contend for the faith.” Much can be gleaned from its writing and exhortation for churches and saints in general.
